Los reinos vegetal, animal y mineral se introducen en la vida del artista como disparador en la búsqueda de la composición humana, como modo de expresar el binomio que nos conforma; somos fuertes y a su vez extremadamente frágiles. Por un lado, poseemos una estructura, un sistema articulado de sostén, de contención. Norma observa la anatomía de diversas hojas - tallo, estípula, pecíolo, nervaduras – y escoge el metal como material para simbolizar dicha solidez. Por otro lado, según la artista, somos vulnerables, porosos - como la lámina o limbo de la hoja - elije por ende, el cuero y la técnica de la costura para representar la piel, aquel órgano permeable que nos conecta con los otros, y permite la incorporación de cambios. La piel como vínculo que nos une al exterior, constituyendo a su vez, nuestra vida interior. El interior que se contrae y oculta por momentos y que por otros, grita y demanda manifestarse.Norma concibe a los ciclos como procesos, en este sentido expresa a través de su obra que somos mutables, como la naturaleza; mientras que ésta reacciona a la par de los cambios de su medio ambiente, nosotros además, al estar atravesados por el lenguaje y la cultura, estamos embebidos en una pluralidad de significantes y vamos transcurriendo distintas posiciones de sentido. Fragmentados, en continuo cambio, en continua búsqueda, en proceso.

The plant, animal and mineral kingdom are introduced into the life of the artist as a trigger in the pursuit of human composition, as a way to express the combination that shapes us; we are both strong and extremely fragile. On one hand, we have a supporting structure, an articulated system of containment. Norma observe the anatomy of different leaves - stem, stipule, petiole, ribs - and choose the metal as a material to symbolize that strength. On the other hand, according to the artist, we are vulnerable, porous - as the lamina or leaf blade - thus choose, leather and stitching techniques to represent the skin as the permeable organ that connects us with others, and allows the incorporation of changes. The skin as a link that connects us to the outside, constituting at the same time, our inner life. That interior that within moments shrinks and conceals, other times shouts and demands to unfold.Norma conceives cycles as processes, in this sense she expresses through her work that we are mutable, like nature. While nature reacts abreast to the changes in their environment, we additionally, by being threaded by language and culture, are embedded in a plurality of signifiers and we cross by different sense positions. Fragmented, constantly changing, constantly searching, in process.
