“El lugar más peligroso para una mujer esel hogar”, asegura la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) que ademásestima en 50.000 las muertes por feminicidios en el mundo en el 2017.

Para mí, ésta es una guerra: las casas setransforman en campos de batallas y las promesas de amor en penas capitales. No sé si el arte puede cambiar la sociedad, pero estoyconvencida de que además de ser una experiencia estética, el arte puedecontribuir a transformar la mirada de quien observa y a cuestionar sus propias certezas.

Soy hija de una mujer golpeada. De chica enArgentina asistí a situaciones de violencia también contra mis tías. Deadolescente fui tocada y molestada en casas, trenes y colectivos. Hasta cuandocruzábamos una avenida y quedábamos en el medio, siempre había alguien quedesde un auto sacaba la mano por la ventanilla y nos tocaba el culo.

Nosoporto cuando me dicen que soy exagerada y me miran como a una extraterrestre.Y tampoco puedo mirar para otra parte.

Entonces a esa la rabia la transformo en arte.

According to the UN, the most dangerous place for a woman is home. 50,000 deaths are estimated for femicide worldwide.

For me this is awar: houses are transformed into battlefields, and the promises of love intocapital punishment. I do not know if art can change society, but I am convincedthat in addition to being an aesthetic experience, art can help transform theeyes of those who observe and question their own certainties.

I am the daughter ofa beaten woman. As a girl in Argentina I attended situations of violenceagainst my aunts. As a teenager I was touched and disturbed in houses, trainsand buses. Even when we crossed the street and stood in the middle of theavenue, there was always someone who, from a car, took out his hand, touchedour asses.

I can't stand whenthey tell me I'm exaggerated and they look at me like an alien. And I can'tlook elsewhere .

So I take that angerand turn it into art.
